I live in Southern California. No not the LA area. More south as in 40 minutes from Palm Springs. Indio, where they host "Coachella" Has anyone been in actual Coachella & not the valley? Well anyway, with all these little earthquakes recently I've been wondering about the "big one" We've experienced big ones about 7.0 and we got through it but I'm curious as to how big the one we should is going to be? & where exactly on the fault will it strike? By the salton sea? or up by cabazon? I know it's coming so I won't ask when but I also want to know about the damage it could cause. I know it will be devastating in the LA area and in other major cities because of the traffic, freeways, & buildings but what about here? There are no tall buildings and we are scattered around. What will be the main damage here withouth buildings collapsing? will the roads open? Will we sink? I don't worry too much about it but then again I still do just because they're so unpredictable. I just read this ""We probably don't have faults large enough to generate an 8.0 except in the very northern part of the state, off Mendicino -- the Cascadia subduction zone," explains California state geologist Dr. John Parrish." so is it ok to think that we'll be ok down here?...
